As for me, I took English for Self Expression and Creative Writing.

ESE : Basically depends on how you present yourself on stage reading stories and acting drama. I'm not too sure about the revised course though, it seems there's finals which we did not have.

CW : 60% based on writing assignments, which is an advantage for you if you can write well, as in expressing your thoughts via your stories. :D

It depends on yourself.. some factors that help you get A's are good command in English and lecturer.. Some lecturers give easy marks.

Uh, I can't exactly remember the words limit but the style of question that he'll ask is that he'll give you 2 lines of words, and you'll choose one and elaborate on that title.

e.g.
1. The Moment of Truth
2. Circle of Life

As you can see, the title itself is quite vague and depending on how well you write an essay that fits the topic. :D

no problem, the general misconception of students here is that they are afraid of attempting this course due to their insecurities in their english proficiency, I'd say if you can convey your story well, you'll do as well as those who are good in english but lacked in the ability to convey their ideas.

Re: generic course

I took EPP and ESE.
I scored A for EPP and taking ESE this sem.....1st time having final exam for ESE

Usually students will choose EPP and ESE last time because EPP is useful when u want to write resume, job interview etc whereas they prefer ESE because no final exam but now different situation.
I'm quite enjoyed my ESE class because the assignments given easy for me just that u have to be prepared while speaking in front of pple
Last time we had our EPP class twice per week and it took a lot of my time but now its once per week shud be ok then.
For me EPP class was soooooo boring not because of the way lecturer taught its just that the subject itself already vv boring......
Luckily my lecturer was quite lenient then thus I scored in this subject....

It is because EPP is so schematic that I rebelled and challenged myself to attempt CW, coz my English in form 5, or rather 1119 is at a 5C level. But having said that, because of its schematic nature, it should be easier to score, depending if you don't get strict examiners. :D
