Re: snake lovers

Post by bumi dragon lord on Tue Sep 02, 2008 8:52 am

acktually i plan to catch them there, i was looking for reptiles and amphibians for my temporary pet.
so far the snake was still young and the survival rate is low, so i keep him.
i am not keeping it for no purpose you know.
i love reptiles and amphibians, making them survive is what feel what i can do.
some of you may hate them, but you havent discover their function in nature and their existence for us, human's benefit yet.

i do expect to meet the creatures on the date, but not this one. its against the law, to keep it till this semester until it grows bigger and able to protect himself is my limit of keeping it. it does not know how to defend himself yet though.

well, law are meant to be broken, i broke the law, you broke the law as well before you put judgement on me, and why is that? freedom86.

look, what ever you all have the view, my view is different from you cause white faced water snake is still with me its because its still young. until the time that comes, i will release it back to its habitat.
further more, its common in sarawak that we can find them just anywhere, i have done my research and discuss with people who is experience.

fast fact:

how do snake smell?

snake do have nose like any animals in this part of the world to breath, but the function is not to smell their prey.

they use their folk toungue to sense their prey. the tips of the toungue helps them trace their prey. the sense they colect then pass to jacobson organ to analysis to resemble the data.

for instance the left tip of their sense the prey, the snake will adjust its direction until both tips of toungue reach balance sensing and go to their prey.

what is the largest snake in the world?

green anaconda is the largest despite the weight. scientist usually rely on the weight to measure the size of the species bigger than the other animals. GA is shorter compare to reticulated phyton in south east Asia. female can grow more than 10 meter and male can grow around a quarter of the size. they kill by coalition and drag prey submerge into water to suffocate it till death. it lives in river and wetland. it hunts for alligator and deer. sometimes human. its range of inhabitant is around Brazil, to be precise its in amazon. anaconda has tinny legs that looks like claws near back side to tickle female when mating, other species of phyton also got.

reticulated phyton is the longest snake recorded in the world.

yes, it does.
that one is mutation one and normally people would keep it with genetic codes and breed it with a nother two head snake to produce more two head snake.
but often, its not successful due to its hard to find another same species and the lifespan is shorter than normal one.
it is very expensive, which depends on size, type and geographical factor. it can cause afew thousand to ten or hundred thousand.

for instance, a double headed snapping turtle cost half million in www.reptileauction.com
i dont know if its sold.

in other words, it's called Recombinant DNA Technology.
for your information, genetic codes = codons

well, you will start to love them when you get to know that they are not as fierce as the movie shows you.
they are tamer than anyone else can thought of.

new breeds are generally occur from their genetic modification naturally, mutation.
there are also funny colouration and pattern in the market shows that they are design by their owner through cross breeding from good seeds of their parent snakes. they choos the quality pattern even into micro pattern that have different result for evey snake that has been produced.

so, i guest manipulation does happen but still its in naturally choice, natural birth and natural production.

do i answer your question? if you wish to go further for the genetic engineering stuff, you can go to this website
