Software needed to format

Water tank or anyone else is doing formatting business please share the software used to backup the files and driver in our PC.
How to avoid our file to be crash or lost during the format process?
Since many of UKF member blurring about formatting and afraid this and that.
Someday we also need to do it yourself(DIY).
So pls share it.

Hmm...there is no crashes while u formatting your laptop..
BTw, just back up everything you wan to keep at Local D (if you sure it din hide with trojans and viruses) or your own external hard disk. ^^

how bout the drivers? it will crash with our hardware or not if we din follow the priority to install the drivers?? i mean the steps..

So list the steps down for us.
The name of the software use to backup the data.

Norton Ghost. It saves an image of your drive into a file. If anything happens, with a few clicks you pc restored in less than 5 mins (compared to fresh install of windows, 1 hour)

1. Backup your data....just like watertank said...
2. Backup also your laptop or pc drivers...u can use some software like drivermax or driver magician (if not, after reformatted u need to install the drivers manually using the comp's cd)
3. Using the bootable cd, restart the comp and follow the instructions
4. After all of the process done, reinstall the drivers using the same software (drivermax or driver magician)
5. Install software that u need....antivirus,office,multimedia tools etc2
6. Done
