Re: sibu travel
I've been to Sibu once and I don't mind going again :D
Sibu's mascot, the swan statue is not to be missed... aside that do visit Bukit Aup Jubilee Park, Lake Garden, Kutien Memorial Park, Sibu Town Square, etc.
The view on the highest floor of the pagoda at Eng Ann Teng Tua Pek Kong is breathtaking, do make a note to visit there.
As makan is concerned, you cannot miss Sing Ming Kee Cafe's kam pua noodle... or Sibu Central Market's 1st floor Ah Hua's kom pia. Lane 2 Lanang's Xiao Hua's Cafe is reputable for their mee sua as well. If you eat pork, then you absolutely shouldn't miss the chance to taste the Phillipines Pork Leg... gosh, hearing its name alone makes my mouth water.
As accomodation is concerned, I've stayed in 2 separate hotels. One is Hotel Bahagia, a low budget hotel and the other is Everly Hotel in Town Square. It's RM200 per night though that one, if I'm not mistaken, the 4 of us crammed (not really crammed, but yeah, 2 guys 2 girls, grins :D) in the room.
Do enjoy your trip there and share your experience when you're back k?

Re: sibu travel
I went to sibu before then straight to miri by bus....phew it was 7 hrs long from kch to sibu then another 7 hrs from sibu to miri...then again miri back to kch takes 10 hrs! Cant sleep at all...the road was bump all da way....
About sibu, the city is very small without any transport u can travel by walking....and there's alot of budget hotels (inn) around there range around rm 30-40 for per nite.
About food, it's big portion and damn cheap compared kch here! Imagine a kampua mee with wan tan cost u rm 2.00 only? If in Kch i guess its over rm 3...

Which bus you take? If you take biaramas or PB-Siria-Borneo Highway then you'll have a nightmare journey.
At sarikei kampua also can get at RM2

Dun forget to cross the lanang bridge. It took more than one decade to finish it. You'll see how majestic Rejang River is.. Don't worry, there's no crocodile.
