here's one of my theories on hoe human become extinct:

Global Pandemic
When an extremely virulent disease begins infecting large populations, a pandemic is declared by WHO (World Health Organisation). There have been many pandemics in the past, examples being ‘The Black Death', which was a strain of bubonic plague striking Europe, and the ‘Spanish Flu' in the 1910s. Influenza is a particular threat - it mutates rapidly and we cannot vaccinate ourselves against it. It has been responsible for decimation of entire populations and is still a threat today. If a hyper-contagious virus were released into the ecosphere it would spread rapidly along transport routes. Aeroplanes would become localised infections, the hosts carrying it to new places. New York, London and other large cities would quickly become abandoned. Pandemics also make excellent films, although the effects are usually exaggerated. (‘I am Legend' particularly - no virus can turn a person feral while keeping them alive).

Human will become extinct one day??? must be years after i'm gone!

1. the sun burst into red star...(far in the future)

I think most of us agreed on the virus outbreak, don't we?

Despite those threats, i believe human survival instinct is very high to overcome it..

Even if human really wiped out of Earth, i believe somebody will keep the DNA of human somewhere so that in distant future human can be revived again.

Extreme-adverse Weather

Either we could cause the weather or it could be a freak occurrence. Phrases like global warming and climate change are thrown around a lot these days and they can be responsible for some weather changes, but we underestimate nature's resilience. Neither the less, a new ice age could emerge (although we are still in one), in which most surface life is killed. Again, films like ‘The Day after Tomorrow' exaggerate the effects.

Preservation mammal by cryogenic is rather hard, high water content means dehydration needed, which means death to most cell....i'm not sure about the latest technology...but last time, pouring liquid nitrogens to my bacteria for storage at -80 degree celcius gives me slight idea why it doesn't work well with animal cells...but recently they stored tissues like embryonic cord in liquid nitrogen for future used....i think the future can be promising or shall i say...freezing?

it can..but with high water content in cells, the effect similar to frost bite will kill the cells...luckily my work only involves liquid nitrogen once in a while....some of the cells can be freeze at very low temperature after treatment and still alive after thawing...

5. Human superiority which cause genocide. Best example, Adolf Hitler, he who sees the "Arians" race (blond and blue-eyed pure German) as being superior while others are worthless. This could repeat itself. (Not that high of chances)

Note: Most people who had AIDS died from other sickness rather than AIDS itself, because AIDS will eradicate, reduce the human's immune system, hence other disease and sickness attack, which causes death.

all of facts you all have gave is the cost of possibility that may make human going to extinction.

but if you all keep on mourning here and there there will be no changes. why not believe in human that we can make things right even though there are a lot of those bast*rds out there are making the situation worse?

population of human is rising up every 3 second. that consistency is killing the mother earth.

i agree with bumi dragon lord...it is obvious what we had done to ruin our sanctuary...we must do something about it...not only for us...for the next generation..it is our responsibility to gives a better world to the next generation, we owe the next generation al lot...start small, by being green...green...green

"Sun consuming Earth" will not happen in our lifetime; based on studies that will happen in 5 billion years in the future, i believe human are already forgotten by other living kind.

i agree with bumi dragon lord that human will not extinct but the population only decline, tsunami is the example. if God or mother earth is really reacting, no one will survive, but i think God is the God of second chances thats why no human shall perish as its the agreement that God has made with Noah. he also agree that he wont use the method again to deal with the wicked one.

one think that indicate your self karoshi, you dont believe in human ability to save the earth or at least save our own species. or to say, you dont believe in yourself to make the things right as well.

extinction from waht i can see is human often cannot get the answer and try to get from others like how you post the topics to answer your own questions. it can be an old question that you ahvent been to answer or current questions.

i may be died in the extinction like you said for all teh causes, but not all human is going to die with me.

theres another hypothesis of the consequences of the sun consumption.
human may not be forgotten, throughout that time, technology is far beyond our expectation and imaginaries. so human may escape to other planet or like you said vanquish into dust....

The Bible says in revelations that on Judgement day or Rapture, God will arrive on Earth to judge the living and the dead. Amusingly, if he arrived tomorrow, his work would be duly archived on the internet with thousands of mobile phone pictures and videos.

Can we keep people alive by freezing them? Can people suffering from incurable diseases be put into deep-freeze until such time as a cure is found, and then revived? The simple answer is no.

Interestingly, human life can survive sub-zero temperatures in a metabolically inactive dormant state. Sperm, eggs and even embryos kept in liquid nitrogen at -196 °C, can be thawed and used successfully in infertility treatment.

However, it is not possible to freeze people and bring them back to life. One of the main problems is that the formation of ice crystals destroys the cells, but a critical factor in maintaining life seems to be the timescale involved: ice crystals take time to develop. When very small samples are immersed in liquid nitrogen, the freezing process happens rapidly: the molecules simply 'lock' in position and ice crystals do not form. The cells and organelles are not damaged, and, when thawed, function normally. This technique, however, only works with tiny samples of tissue, which freeze instantly and entirely.

(P/S: If we developed a way of instantaneously freezing all the cell of a fully developed human, could they be thawed out and live to tell the tale? Only time will tell.)

If you have instant frost of human, the heart beat will stopped. Then how are you going to start the pulse after instant defrost? If one could do so, getting heart attack is no more a disease. Cells might survive but the life and soul would be not there.

A human get heart attack in the instant-freezing condition because the body temperature drops so much. Thus, in order to maintain it, the heart need to do much work to transport the blood to every part of the body. Blood is one of the body temperature regulation mechamism. It has to do more work than the usual. Until a certain limit, the heart get 'tired'. Hence, the person will get heart attack.
