Everybody is waiting for 09/16. If it does not happen the credibility of DSAI will diminish rapidly.

Re: 916?...wat n how malaysia would be?
By SEAN YOONG,Associated Press Writer AP - Tuesday, September 16
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said he would miss his self-imposed Tuesday deadline to oust Malaysia's entrenched government, but vowed it would happen soon and urged the prime minister to negotiate a smooth transfer of power.
Anwar told a rally of some 10,000 supporters Monday that he had enlisted enough support from government lawmakers who would defect and join his coalition and that he wanted the discuss a transition with Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad.
"We do not want to force it," he said. "Therefore, we want to negotiate with the prime minister and ask him, 'Do you want one week, do you want two weeks?' "
The comments added to the pressure on Abdullah and his ruling National Front coalition, which is already in disarray because of dissent and a festering rebellion against Abdullah's weak leadership after disastrous election results in March.
Earlier in the day, Anwar sent a letter to Abdullah saying he had enough support to form a government and asking the prime minister for a meeting.
"We want the transition of power to be done smoothly and peacefully. We have the numbers and we are ready ... to form the government," he said.
Thousands at the evening rally chanted "Reformasi," or reform, and "9-1-6" _ a reference to Sept. 16, Anwar's original deadline for removing the government through ruling coalition defections.
Opposition leaders who spoke before Anwar gave a new interpretation of the deadline date, saying it was the beginning of a campaign to oust the National Front, which has been in power uninterrupted since 1957 when Malaysia gained independence from British colonial rule.
Anwar's People's Justice Party, PAS and DAP formed a coalition before the March 8 general elections, winning an unexpected 81 seats in the 222-member Parliament. With the support of an independent member, the alliance is 30 seats short of a majority.
It was the worst electoral result ever for the National Front.
In a sign that the government is panicking, on Friday it arrested an opposition lawmaker, an anti-government blogger and a reporter under the Internal Security Act that allows indefinite detention without trial. The act is normally used for people regarded as security threats.
The journalist was freed Saturday but the other two remain in jail.
The use of ISA has been criticized by lawyers, human rights groups and even some Cabinet ministers. On Monday, the minister in charge of legal affairs, Zaid Ibrahim, submitted his resignation to Abdullah in protest.
(in oth word, d take over has been cancelled but will happen in the near future...)

Re: 916?...wat n how malaysia would be?
he has enough number of people to make a new government. some of the officers cross to PKR. to show the support, pakatan gather their people in kelana jaya stadium, there are thousands of them.
the procedure still in process, where tan sri is waiting for PM's decision and reply.
When interviewed later, Kamaruddin claimed that the new Government would be formed in the next few days. (the star)
malaysiakini cannot open, i dont know why. but one trait i do notice is that when it comes to the important date or event, malaysiakini in unimas cannot access.

I lost respect for DSAI already. Why he decide to ruin his golden opportunity to rewrite history.
Probably because police already armed and ready to arrest or shoot him..? We have already seen what a desperate gov might do.

Anwar claims more than 31 MPs will cross over
PETALING JAYA: Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has claimed that more than 31 Barisan MPs have agreed to cross over to Pakatan Rakyat.
He, however, refused to reveal the names of the 31 MPs.
Anwar told a press conference at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday that he would give the list of the names to the Prime Minister when he meets him.
The Permatang Pauh MP also claimed that the transition to the new Government has been delayed a few days pending the meeting with Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to ensure a smooth and peaceful transition.
“The numbers are increasing by the hour, but as of now, it is in excess of 31 MPs.
"This is not empty talk. I am fully responsible for my statement but we have choose to be patient and use the conciliatory way,” the PKR adviser said.
He called on Abdullah to meet with him, where he said he would even give the Prime Minister the names of Barisan MPs wanting to defect to the Pakatan Rakyat alliance of opposition parties.
“I am appealing (for this meeting) in the name of political stability and a smooth transition. It will be preposterous for the Prime Minister to deny me this meeting,” said Anwar, who was flanked by leaders from PKR, DAP, PAS and even non-member Parti Sosialis Malaysia.
Asked why he still refused to give the exact number of defecting MPs or their names, Anwar said there was a fear the MPs would be detained or harassed if their names were released.
Asked what he would do if Abdullah refused to see him, Anwar smiled and replied: “Why assume he will refuse to see me? I am his friend. I believe we will meet.”
He said Pakatan would give Abdullah some time to consider because the latter was having problems within his own party.
Pressed for a deadline for a meeting with Abdullah, Anwar said he did not like to give any ultimatum but it should be within the next few days or “other options would be considered.”
He said he would refer to his coalition partners in Pakatan to discuss the next course of action, but was committed to ensuring the takeover was constitutional.
Anwar was non-committal when asked if he would seek an audience with the Yang DiPertuan Agong to present himself as commanding a majority in Parliament, or if he would seek a motion of no-confidence against Abdullah at the next Parliament sitting in October.
He said these options would be discussed with other Pakatan leaders.
Anwar said that in a letter submitted to Abdullah on Monday, Pakatan had made four demands to ensure a smooth transition:
1) That Barisan does not hinder or prevent the MPs from acting in accordance with their conscience, constitutional rights and independentjudgement;
2) That the Barisan government should not invoke the Internal Security Act to detain the MPs or any other current Pakatan MPs;
3) That the Barisan government does not invoke emergency laws or police powers or suspend the Constitution or dissolve Parliament; and
4) That the Barisan government shall not impose roadblocks or impede MPs from going to Parliament or any institution of government.
