Great tips~ Optimize the computer speed~(updated 5/09/08)
Today, i'm going to share some tricks to optimize the computer speed, otherwise no ppl wanna come to this Window xp zone, haih... :(
Very simple, just follow my steps~
First, Open registry, start-->run-->regedit
1) hkey-->current user-->control panel---> desktop.
At the right side, find "auto end task" double click it change the value to '1'.
Same place, go to 'hung timeout', change the value to 200.
Same place, go to 'MenuShowDelay', change the value from '400' to '0'.
Same place, go to 'WaitToKillAppTimeout', change the value to 2000.
2) Increase your internet conenction bandwidth
go to RUN and type "gpedit.msc"
after the window appears, find administrative templates, network, qos packet sheduler, ok now select :
Reserved Limit Bandwidth, double click, then choose enabled, and change the default value 20% to 0% then click ok and restart, done!!
3) coming soon XD

Isn't changing settings at System Properties>Advanced>Performance is quicker and easier?

That is disable some of the unnecessary visual effects, and some others. Modifying the registry might risky but it is an advanced way and really can did some improvements also. If you doing both ways, it's better :)

Ok, i would like to contribute some tips also. After you have done with hkey-->current user-->control panel---> desktop.
You need to apply the same for hkey-->.default-->control panel-->desktop.
Thanks :D

More tips from me;
Disable System Restore and Remote Assistance in Windows. those two, especially System Restore are very useless and it wastes system resources..
If disaster ever happen and we use system restore, there will be more problems when after we do the restoring due to inconsistencies in files and registries.
As a countermeasure of not having this system restore, users are advised to backup their files somewhere often.
